Accused: "Not guilty, yer Worship." Now J.P.: "Not guilty! Well what the divil d'ye want t' come 'ere wnatin' tlie time of tlie Court for?" At the annual meeting of tlie Wellington branch of the Amalgamated .Society of Railway Servants, the following motion was carried unanimously:— "That, as the farmers, millers, wholesale morhants, and others have raised the price of commodities and the Government has failed to prevent the exploiting of the workers, we therefore urge upon the executive council to use every endeavour to obtain an increase of pay to all railway employees.''
