AN ENCOURAGING SUCCESS. (By our Special ItepT'-.or);'.' In the comparatively .short period of six years the setters of the Rdetihi district have established a ;diow which ranks amongst the foremost of the southern Main Trunk district. Progeny of recent introductions made a splendid display, although cattle and sheep were not numerous, competition was keen and elicited favourable comment frcm the judges and the public which attended tc the number of over 1000. Those who are disposed to discoun tenance the agricultural value of Wai marino and would have had their de Pusicns shattered yesterday it they had viewed the exhibits cf vegetables field picduce, and farm roots grown without the aid of artificial manures. The catalogue catered for the inclus trious housewife, who came forward with exhibits c-'i cookery and sewing which merited the award cards of '■ much larger shows.
