At the inquest on Thomas Wallace, 'ahcurer, who committei suicide at Xaiti by cutting his throat with a jutcher's knife, the evidence shewed gruesome details. The ma;l having out his throat first with a pocket knife and wandered through the house, spurting the bleed everywhere right and left. On a bed occupied by two small children were his money, waich md vest. The parents of th» children tearing a gurgling noise and banging mi a wall, had vacated the premises, •nd went for assistance to neihbours. The inquest w.as adourned. Thomas Alfred Vcwles, hairdresser, :harged with arson, at Tolago Bay, vdmitted having burned the premises 'ie was occupying with the object of jetting the insurance on his run-.iture. Ie was committed, for sentence.
DROWNING ACCIDENT. WELLINGTON. Feb. 18. The police have received information that .Tames McGregor, an attendant at Forirua Mental Hospital, was drowned it Titahi Bay this afternoon while 'lathing.
