MASTERTON SHOW.
(Bv Telegraph .-—Press Association.) MASTERTON, This Day. The 28th annual show of the Masterton A. and P. Association opened on the Solway show grounds on Tuesday in fine weather, and with a large attendance. The show of fat stock was pronounced to be one of the finest ever seen in the Dominion. The championship Wheeler Shield, competed for under the auspices of the Romney Marsh Breeders’ Association, was won by W. Perry, with W. Rayner winning the Perry silver. There was keen competition in this class. Other championships were as follows; Shropshires, H. D. Vavasour, ram and ewe. Lincolns: Ram, D. McDonald; ewe, H. Y. Gaisford. English Leicesters: Ram and ewe, S. R. Lancaster. Border Leicester; Ram and ewe. J. A. Welsh. Romney Marsh: Ram Walter Perry; ewe, G. E. Allen. Southdowns: Ram and ewe, Fernie and j Richmond. Purebred Shorthorn cow and bull: W. Howard Booth. Purebred Hereford cove and bull, E. Short. Purebred Jersey heifers, S, R. Lancaster. Holstein Friesian: W. I. Lovelock, cow and bull. Fat cattle; Bullock and cow, Sir Walter Buchanan. Competitions resulted : Trotting horse, W. D. Watson 1; V. Percy 2; W. Redmond 3. Walking Competition; E. Harper 1, C. F. Vallauce 2. Pony Tuniiping;, C. F. Vallance 1. Maiden 1 Jumping: W. H. Gaisford. Leaping Competition: H. Wassail's Micky Free 1 l; J. Bryce's Twilight 2; E. Short’s Scout 3.
