PARNELL TUNNEL ACCIDENT

(By Telegraph. —Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Daf. William Copeland and William Dennis, two miners, were employed excavating one end of the Parnell tunnel, when a shot was fired at the other end, a few feet of papa rock separating two parties .of workmen. Both Copeland and Dennis were hurled against the timber supports and covered by papa rock. They were removed tc the hospital severely bruised but without any bones having been broken. Joseph Symcnds,a married man, also employed at the tunnel works, was knocked down by a passing train and sustained a fractured hip.
