U, * Regarding Japan’s reported farreaching demands on China, it is officially explained that Japan is only asking for the adjustment of old outsit: nding localities where Japan has special interests. It is untrue that Japan is seeking a change of China’s political status. Japan asks that Chinese stories emanating from Pekin be received with caution, because of German inspiration. RUSSIA APPROVES OF JAPAN’S ACTION. LONDON, Feb. 13. Speaking in the Duma, M, Saaonoff stated that Japan’s demands were not contrary to Russia’s interests.
