I (Reed 8.55 a.m.) I NEW YORK, Feb 12. j Speaking at a dinner at Washing'ton, in honour cf Admiral Dewa, the Japanese representative to the Panama Exhibition said that Japan was looking to America for the solution of all troubles. The remark was interpreted as applying to the European war. Mr Bryan in replying, said the United States' faith in Japan's spirit for peace was not shaken, and her desire and honesty of purpose to live with the United States as a friendly neighbour was never questioned. Association th| chairman said the losses sustained by British shipping during the six months of war was much less than might have been expected. One estimate submitted assessed it at six millions.
