ROTTMANN FOUND GUILTY.

SENTENCED TO DEATH. PROTESTS HIS INNOCENCE. The jury retired at 12.45 p.m. and; returned at 2.10 with a verdict of guilty. Judge Chapman, who said the verdict was entirely justified, then passed sentence of death, saying the matter' would come under the notice of the Government, but he could not hold out any hope of reprieve. The prisoner accepted the situation calmly, saying, he had a fair trial, hut; he had no recollection of committing the crime.
