Aii unconfirmed report states that the Germans have executed Maritz for alleged treaehery. It is stated that Maritz left the Loyalist camp promising to try and bring German artillery. It is believed the Germans discovered his treachery during- the attack on the Kakamas, when lliey narrowly escaped disaster. The trial of Wessels is proceeding. The Basuto Chief, Lethaniwopels, gave evidence that Wessels, in a letter promised independence if he kept quiet, or if he aided the rebels. A GERMAN DECISION. ARMED MERCHANTMEN ILLEGAL. (Reed 9.25 a.m.) AMSTERDAM, Feb 10. A Socialist conference, at Berlin, by 65 votes to 26 declared against Liebk-anti-war attitude. The Kolnische Zeitung states that German jurists and naval officers have decided that armed merchantmen are illegal, therefore should be treated as Franc Tireurs. 1
