ALLEGED SHEEP STEALING. » (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Feb. 11. At the Auckland Supreme Court, Jas. Lyons, a farmer, charged with stealing sheep at Ohaeawai, was found not guilty and discharged. CHRISTCHURCH CUSTOMS .FRAUD CHRISTCHURCH, This -Day. At the -Supreme Court the hearing o£ the charges against John Alexander McKinnon, involving participation in the Customs frauds, four witnesses, who are serving sentences in connection therewith, swore that accused shared the plunder with them; also that McKinnon obtained the Landing Surveyors' stamp to facilitate the thefts, which went on continuously from 1910. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb 11 McKinnon, in giving evidence, said that Hill, who was convicted of fraud, took entries for McKinnon completed them, believing that Hill was an honest officer. He denied the evidence given by the four convicted men, and said he never received money from them, and knew nothing of the fra'uds. CHRISTCHURCH, Later.
