Mr W. P. Pacey, son of Mr P. Pacey, of Toarca, one of the oldest residents of this district, has again volunteered for the war and has heen accepted. He will leave with other members of the Taihape contingent by the 6 a.m. train on Monday morning for the camp at Trentham. Mr Pacey is now only twenty-five years of age, but he has given a considerable portion of his life to the service of his country, as, in addition 'to having served for five years in the British Navy, he was for a time in the permanent artillery in Wellington, and he was also a member of the New Zealand expeditionary force that took possession of Samoa. Although he came to this district when he was only five years of age, since he arrived at the necessary age, most of his life has been spent in the Government, service. He has joined the fifth reinforcements for the front, as a member of an infantry regiment.
