A AUCKLAND, Feb. 9. r ‘ ‘The presence of Gorman musicians Mnf the orchestra o certain moving:-' (]pi&ture theatres is. causing'concern to . the members of tire Auckland Performing- Musicians’ Union.- Many cf. them strongly object to the employment of the -s&Bjc/cts of enemy countries while musicians cf their own kith and Kin arc out*'cf work, but the problem which they have to solve is how to act within the letter cf the Conciliation and Arbitration Act. The judgment ; which was- given in Sydney recently, awarding damages to a subject cf an enemy country for expulsion from a labour union, has further complicated matters. Recently the musicians’ union forwarded’ a letter to the Prime Minister cn the subject, .and it v.'as expected that a reply would have been in time lor a meeting cf the union which was held in the Druids (Hall te-day. As it happens, Mr Massey hns- not yet replied. The meeting today was largely attended, evidencing lively interest in the question at issue.
