A GERMAN WRECKER. DYNAMITING A CANADIAN BRIDGE GERMAN PAY AND ORDERS. Press Association—Oopyragb*. (Reed. B.SO a.m.)* VANCOUVER, Feb 5. Van Home, a German arrested while attempting to dynamite the Saint Crcix River bridge. He informed the police that all arrangements were made by Germany who paid him for the job. The object, was to stop British supplies passing ever the bridge. CANADIAN PARLIAMENT. TWENTY MILLION WAR VOTE. (Reed. 2.30 p.m.) OTTAWA, Feb. 5. The Duke cf cC'nnaught opened Parliament. He pointed out that the war was progressing favourably and that Canada's financial position was sound. Premier Borden asked Parliament for twenty millions sterling, war expenditure. A PAPER BLOCKADE "MADE IN GERMANY." (Reed 1 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 5. Shipping circles view the threatened blockade if; a paper blockade* '■'made in Germany." General Maxwell cabled to Sir George Reid commending the services rendered by Australian engineers while under fire.
