SIXTEEN THOUSAND ACRES, 3 „ 1 (By Telegraph.—Press Association.)] WELLINGTON, Feb. 6. Mr Massey stated that next monthi the Government would be offering 4,482 acres cf drained swamp lanu, : worth £51,000, in Hauraki Plains district. They were also opening on February 22, 11,555 acres of dry land, worth £27,355 in the neighbourhood! of the Plains and as soon as possible the Government were going on with! the drainage cf the Waihi swamp. Pro., curing of machinery had been delayed, by the war, but it would be shipped from London during the next week; or two The total area to be drained is ten or twelve thousand acres.
