Henry Morgan was charged at the Police Court yesterday morning with his second offence of drunkness and further with being an idle and disorderly fellow. He was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. Three first-offending inebriates were convicted and fined 5/-. This morning a first-offender was'convicted and discharged.
At the Ohakune Magistrate's Court, on Wednesday, before Mr. W. K. Haselclen, S.M., James Hannan was fined £-10 on a charge of keeping liquor for sale. Margaret Gascoigne was lined £2O for a similar offence, and Charles Treves was fined 10/- for taking drink into a prohibited district. Counsel for Mrs. Gascoigne intimated that his client might appeal against the Magistrate's decision, and the security was fixed at £4O.
The fortnightly meeting of the Awarua Ledge, No. 83, 1.0.0. F., was held in the Lodge Room last night, P. G". Pro. Ward occupying the chair. The sum of £7 15/ was passed for sick payment. P.G. Bro.
