| WANOANUI WOOL, SKINS, HIDES AND TALLTW SALES. N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY CO.'S REPORT. Our usual monthly saie took place last Thursday, 14th inst., when the following catalogue was submitted to i full attendance of buyers: 53 bnles aim 107 bags- .cf wool, 1640 sheepskins, I sasks and 74 tins of tallow, 214 bidet 33 sacks bones,, besides horse-hair. Bid. ding throughout was spirited, hides.tallow and sheepskins being especially keenly competed for. We report as follows: Wool. —Star lots of bush stained, matted and straggles comprised our offering. Crossbred fleece made from 9d to 9|d, pelts, dingy log-stained Bf,d per lb, matted 83d to ,9d ; , per lb, lambs to 91d, dead to SAd per lb crutchings Gid to 7d per lb, bellies and pieces to 5d to C:;d, locks to 4 ; ]d per lb. Sheepskins—Coarse and dingy cross bred SJd per lb, coarse crossbred 9?,d per lb, fine crossbred 9Jd per lb, I to 2 wools 3d per lb, J wools to Gl.d, per lb, pelts 41d to 5d per lb, dead to 7Jd per lb, Ist hoggets to 9d per lb, broken and damaged to Qhd per lb, .lambs to 8 d per lb, salted pelts to 2s 3d each. Hides. —No heavy ox offered. Medium ox to 91d per lb, light cows to 9 5-3 d per lb, bulls to s:,'d per lb, cut and slippy to B?.d per lb, yearlings to ft>.d per lb, weaners to 9Ad per lb. calf 10 7-8 d to Is Id per lb.

Tallow.—Casks £23 10s to £24 per ton, tins and boxes to 19s Gd per cwt. Bones £4 10s per ton, horse-hair Is Sd per lb. . Next Sale.—February 11th. Consignments should reach us not later than February sth. Unfortunately through late arrival, every month a considerable quantity of produce has to be shut out. If clients would send their consignments to us a week before date .they would gveaftl-y convenience us and save themselves delay in realisation. The demand for all classes of produce is splendid now. and our friends should hurry their stuff forward to take.advantage of the excellent prices ruling.

FEILDING STOCK SALES,

Dalgety and Co. report having a fair entry of both sheep and cattle at their Feilcling* sale. Competition was exceedingly keen for sheep, and all lines sold at prices highly satisfactory to vendors. Quotations Small woolly liunbs 7/5 to 7/6. medium black-face shorn lambs 8/4 to 9/7, sound-mouth ewes to 13/11, light fat ewes to 16/1. two-year heifers to £3 12/6, empty cows £4 16/, £4 19/, £5 4/- to &5 7/-, light fat cows to £6 12/-. Abraham and Williams report on their Feilding sale: We had a very heavy yarding of sheep and cattle and quit everything under the hammer at advanced rates to those ruling at last sale: 269 2-tooth wethers on account of R. At Hastings on Thursday, cattle, vith the exception of fats, were dull of sale, but all sheep sold remarkably well, fetching above vendors' reser\es. WOOL SALES,

RECORD PRICES REALISED. INVERCARGILL, Jan. 15. The wool sales to-day were the most successful ever held in Invercargill. It was anticipated there Avould be more than the ordinary fair price but the most optimistic were scarcely prepared for the prices realised and most were entirely out in their calculation. The demand for strong crossbred was very keen and in production of this class of wool Southland is renoAvnod. Competition Avas limited to Home and New Zealand buyers Bradford mainly operating. All the 10,600 bales catalogued were disposed of, Growers were prepared to accept rates ruling at last Dunediii sale, but these prices were topped all round by Id to 2d. At today's sale-the top price was 14d for a jcitbice line of hogget wool.
