LONDON, Jana. 8. Wheat demand is strong .owing to the American and Canadian recovery. Showery weather prevails in the Argentine. UNSOUND MEAT SUPPLIED TO TROOPS. PROSECUTIONS ADJOURNED. LONDON, Jan. 8. The hearing of summonses charging J. Lyons and Company with selling unsound meat as food for troops uuartered at White City, for whom they were catering, was adjourned for a fortnight, after the hearing of preliminary evidence. Counsel for the prosecution stated that the charges involved under which the defendant company a searching inquiry in connection with the way in which the defendant company carried out its contract.
