"WASHING-UP" MEETING, • I £4O FOR RELIEF FUNDS. A meeting of the committee 1 of the faihape Athletic Club was held :,in the ccietary's office last night for the purose of clearing up picnic affairs. °resent: Messrs C. L. Dymock (chair), .". McLsnnan, G. Bray, D. Neagle, W. Bashford, F. W. Somerville. The financial results i'or the' New car's Day gala were as follow: Re■"ipts—Gate £3B 14,">; nominations nd privileges £35 J 9/; donations .24 13/6; Athletic Club's donation, p ? 0; total, £ll9 7/. Expenditure— Pities, £37 8/; toys, £18; sundries. £23 19/; total, £79 7/. Tbid leaves a balance of £4O, of which ju*.''£oes to the Taihape Band and will be donated by that body to a relief fund. The remainder will be -livided by th« Club equally between the 'ldea! reMet fund and the Belgian Relief Fund. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded those outside the committee who rendered assistance during th<» gala. The chairman congratulated" the ommitt.ee on their work, and on the >rilliant success which had 'marked heir endeavours. ].■ The meeting closed with a heart? 'tie of thanks to the chair.
