' The film is indeed a fine specimen of the dramatic art and is thrill ng from end to end. The other dramas, ‘ ‘ Queen’s Mercy ’ ’ and ' 1 The Blue or the Grey,” are also of a high -order. The star feature film, * * When Conscience Calls,” screened for the second time at the Three Stars Theatre last night, was greeted by an appreciative body of patrons. This splendid drama of over 2000 feet is. a tale owed ty and of ranch and of the deepest interest, showing, as it does, that there is good in everything, even in the dark-est-dyed scroundrels. The star patriotic film, “Europe in Peace and at War,” created a deal of genuine interest. PETER DAWSON. In response to the earnest request of the various musical centres, Mr. Peter Dawson, the world-famous baritone, has decided to make a thorough tour of New Zealand under the direction of ,T. and N. Tail. Fvery town with u hull large enough- to offer sufficient inducement will be visited by the renowned singer and his accomplished collogues, the latter comprising, as it were, an “all-star” English concert party of singers of proved, ability, and of the highest standing. Among those ■whose names have resounded loudly throughout the world of music Peter Dawson steps into the foremost rank. His London and provincial successes have extended over a period of eight years, during which time he has accomplished that which few others hive done. IDs name is now a household word. He has fought his way up the ladder of fame in London. His gramapiioue records have made him famous throughout the Eng-lish-speaking world. It is but e. few years since he first sang before and incidentally captivated h .London audidence, and to-day he is a principal figure at the Eoyal Albert Hall Sunday Afternoon Concerts, The Royal Opera Covcut Garden, The Chappell Ballacs Concerts, The Queen's Hall Promenade Concerts, etc., and he enjoys such a wde popularity that he is frequently styled a “London Idol.” Through wide popularity that he is frequently just how to eater for his public. The programmes will be drawn from both the old and new school of music. Mr. Dawsono and his brilliant company will visit Ta.hape on Saturday, February 6th.
