TAIHAPE ATHLETIC CLUB'S MONSTER PICNIC & GALA.

Don't forget to-morrow, commencing at 11 a.m., the Recreation Ground, Taihape, will be a scene of unprecedented bustle and excitement, on the occasion of the Picnic and Gaia Day promoted by the Athletic Club. The final touches have been given to the arrangements and everything is in train to give a more than enjoyable cuting to young and old alike. Unlike most outings it' will be unnecessary for visitors to bring anything in the way of liquid refreshments, as the Club are providing milk, tea hot water free of charge. All the visitors require to bring is the edibles and something to drink out of. There are good nominations fur the chopping event, and this should prove an exciting contest. ' The Horse Jumping, Fire ''-Brigade Events and Youths' Bicycle Race v on pest entries, and from good information' it is safe to guarantee good fields in all these. Teams for the Fire Brigade events are coming from practically everywhere, which has a fire brigade, between Te Kuiti and Marton inclusive. Don't forget there is £ls worth of toys to be distributed among the children, and that mothers sni children are admitted free. Poor old father has to ray again! There are a number of side show.to provide attractions for young an.i eld. The Taihape Brass Band has gener cusly consented to play free of Charge and any surplus which f h?re may be will be paid over to one 5f the Relief Funds. The Committee extend an invitation to the public in general to attend the gathering. The following handicaps have been declared by Mr. J. A.
