RUSSIAN PALACE BURNED. Press Association —Copyright, (Ee'e. 10 a.m.) PETROGEAD, Dec. 23. Kutukhtu’s palace at Urga has been burned with the whole of its treasures. [The only Urga we know of is in Mongolia.] A MIRACULOUS ESCAPE. A STEEPLEJACK ADVENTURE. (Reed. 8.45 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 23. Two men named Rafter and Mayhall, steeplejacks, were repairing the chimney of the Leeds electricity works when Rafter dropped a hammer on Mayhall’s head, some feet below him. Mayhall fell backwards, unconscious, suspended by his legs. Rafter descend, ed, and with a third stepplejack’s assistance, roped Mayhall, who was then lowered 150 feet to the ground. He was taken to the hospital in an unconscious condtiion.
