The High Commissioner reports as follows: Note: Quotations unless otherwise specified are average market prices on the spot. M'utton: More demand., owing to short suply of Dutch, but market declining on account of frozen supplies increasing. Canterbury mutton, 5 1-Sd, North Island 5Jd; lamb market quiet. Canterbury twos G 9-16 d; other than Canterbury 6 3-Bd. Beef: Better demand for beef owing to short supply of Irish and chilled. New Zeaalnd hinds 6 3-8 d; fores s:';d; chilled hinds 7 3-8 d; fores 53d. Butter market firm. Danish very slow. Supplies decreasing 150/ to 154/ per ewt. New Zealand: Market is firm, gccd demand, 136/ to 138/; Australian: Market firm, moderate supplies coming forward, 134/ to 136/. Argentine: Firm, 132/ to 136/. Cheese: Market not quite so firm, Canadian firm, demand only moderate, white and coloured per cwt., 78/ .to 79/; exceptional SO/. New Zealand: Market declined further, white and coloured, 76/ to 77/. The Ruahine, Tainui, and Pakeha are in dock. The Ruahine and Tainui are discharging butter and cheese, but the Pakeha cannot discharge for three days. The dairy produce market is rather unsettled owing to delay in delivery from docks. The hemp market is somewhat steadier, very little New Zealand being on hand. New Zealand good fair grade, per ton, £26; fair £24. These prices are nominal, January to March. New Zealand gooc fair grade, per ton, £24 10/; fair, £22 10/: fair current Manila, £25. The output from Manila for the week was 16,000 lbs.

STOCK SALE REPORTS. FREEMAN R. JACKSON AND CO.'S REPORT. At our Wanganui sale on the 16th hist, we had a heavy yarding, viz., 960 mixed cattle, 3000 sheep and 140 pigs We had a good attendance of buyers. Sheep maintained late values and ill found purchasers wich the exception of a pen of ewes and lambs. Some useful cattle, including several pens or forward bullocks, were yarded.th© bulk being sold before the day closed, at satisfactory prices. Pigs were in good demand. At cur Waverley sale on the 18th inst. we yarded 500 head of cattle. The attendance was good and competition keen throughout, practically everything sold under the hammer, prices being in vendors' favour. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows: We offered a large catalogue of all classes of produce to a big attendance of buyers. Competition was very keen for everything offered. Bag wool .ruled at late prices, whilst skins were higher by a half-penny per pound for all sound full wools. Hides also advanced a full half-penny per pound up to 91d being paid for heavy ox and light cow.
