STRANDING OF THE KOUTUNUI.
THE COURT'S FINDING. NAPIER, This Day. At the magisterial enquiry re the stranding of the Koutunui off Orete Point, it was found that the course set by the mate was too fine and that the captain committed an error of judgment in not putting- to sea instead of continuing the voyage. The Court found that all behaved with skill and courage and in view of this it decided that neither officer' certificates should be dealt with. The captain was ordered to pay the costs of the enquiry (£6 IG/(i.
