FEDERAL TRAWLER MISSING

MELBOURNE, Dec. 17.

Anxiety is felt regarding the Federal trawler Endeavour, which is nine days overdue from Macquarrie Islands, where she landed relief men for the Mawson expedition. According to Macquarrie reports, *a heavy gale occurred a couple of days after the trawler's departure. Arrangements have bejen made to despatch a warship in search. Experts are hopeful that the trawler has been delayed by a broken shaft or ether mishap. Twenty-two men are ab|:a!r<y, including zJannevig (Director of Fisheries); Power (wireless operator at Macquarrie Island); and Harrison (biologist).

WHEAT IN N.S.W. GOVERNMENT BECOMES PURCHASER.
