LONDON WOOL SALES.
At Jacomb Buxton's wool sale 953 S bales were offered. There was an excellent atendance and except for a few New Zealand slipes, scoured, for which there was animated competition, lates rates prevailed. Catalagues included entirely merinos, wherefore competition was very weak. There are plenty of .American orders on the market but they cannot be executed because of insufficient information wth regard to guarantees • required. Sir George. Reid circulated' the announcement that , any , . reasonable guarantees would be accepted but this is not considered sufficiently definite t justify operations. Some traders declare the best .solution . of the difficult; would be for the. Government to declare wccl contraband of war.
Shafty combing declined 10 per cen., and short faulty parcels 15 to 25 per cent.
