At Feilding court on Wednesday IT. Futchbr v. G. A. Wheeler, claim £45 for training a racehourse, judgment was given for plaintiff with £5 6s costs. G. A. Wheeler v. H. Butcher for £4O for failing to carry out his duty to ride the plaintiff’s horse at the Avondale Races, judgment was given for plaintiff for £23 with £3 5s costs.

At the Police Court yesterday afternoon Leonard Wm. Gockburn was fined £1 for breech of his prohibition order. This morning Frank Vincent Gully ami John Burke, second offending inebriates were each convicted and fined £1 in default seven days. Two first offenders -were convicted and discharged.

Mr. 11. M. Speed, Reform candidate for Waimarino, is unfortunately confined to his room with a severe cold and consequently is' unable to deliver his address in the Town Hall to-night. Mr. Speed hopes to continue his campaign in a day or two, when he wflll address Taihape electors in the Towm Hall. The date will be duly advertised.
According to the hon. treasurer of the Wanganui Agricultural Association, the efforts of the ladies on behalf of the Belgian Food Fund and the Queen Mary’s appeal for the sick and wounded, resulted in the fine sum of £GSO being netted. It is also understood that the association made a net profit of about £6OO on the show.
