There is no doubt j that, at the present momnt, there is a ■carcity of real " choicest" butter, and with the prospect of cold Aveather
advanced a further 2s io 4s per cwt. thte week. Germany :■■ understood to be shorn ot butter, and owing to the complete stoppage of Siberian imports is ohliged io draw heavily on Denmark and Holland. The Copenhagen quotation has again risen 3kr., an advance of -no less than 15kr. in the past three weeks. The quality of ibis week's arrivals of Siberian butter on the s.s. The first arrivals of new season's Argentine butters are new available and are showing splendid quality. Values range from 130 s to 132 s for unsalted, and 128 s to 130 s for salted.
