BOY SCOUTS.
SATURDAY'S OPERATION?. (By Sentinel.) On Saturday last forty-two scouts were present, two of them being newboys. The following boys were enrolled as tenderfeet: Corporals Kilcolly, Wright. •en, Pirie, Drcome and Scouts M> Cauliffe, L. Body, Blocklty, Henson, Bctfield, Trimbs, W'rigbtson, O'Callaghan, Hair, Green. A few exercises preparatory ;:o the demonstration which the scouts hope to give to the public some time during the holidays were practised before lunch After lunch the first troops were sent to the Recreation Ground with instructions to hide themselves. They were armed with three balls of paper each. Mumbr two troops were sent to locate them and were similarly armed. A , good day was brought to an end with [.signalling exercises. A camp is intended as part of the work during the Christmas holidays and the scoutmaster >:rged the boys to earn the necessary ten shillings requisite for expenses and not to be so ready to go to their parents for tiie money needed. A scout should be willing" to work and earn all that his training required. To do this meant to give up being la:<y or proud. Some were too lay.y and some too proud and these are bad faults. To be loyal to God and to the ! king must be practised there. This means doing the things parents desire
