A SHOCKING TRAGEDY. MURDER AND SUICIDE. NAPIER, Nov. 13. A shocking tragedy occrred at Clivo this afternoon. The bodies of a Carried woman named Georgina Anthony, wife of Alfred Anthony, wool-classer, and a man named Norman Richards, employed at the Pakipaki Freezing Works, were found lying on a bed in Anthony’s house, each with the arteries of an arm severed at the elbow. Mrs Anthony was to have left by the mail train on a visit to her mother, who lives at Castlecliff, Wanganui, and her husband bade her an affectionate farewell at 7 a.m. before going to work. On returning at six o’clock in the evening he saw her hat on the table, and looked in the rooms for her, finding her and Richards, as stated. Both bodies were stil Iwarm, A razor was lying on the table by the bedside. There were no signs of a struggle. The woman left a note, but is contents will not be disclosed until the inquest in the morning. GAOL INSTEAD OF WAR. DUNEDIN, Nov. 13. At the Supreme Court this morning, Edward Kelly, aged 20, was brought before Mr. Justice Sim for failing to comply with the conditions of his release on probation after conviction for breaking, entering and theft at Queenstown in July. Accused reported himself in September and October to the police at Invercargill. He then left, and joined the Expeditionary Force at Oamaru. When arrested at Wellington a sum of £6 7/6 was owing by him. The prisoner, addressing the court, said he wanted to go with the force, and would have been too late if he had reported. He thought there was no harm in going, so long as he made arrangements for paying the money. The accused was sentenced to 12 months, the term of the original sentence. _ . '
