RANGITIKEI A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the general committee of the Rangitikei A. and P Association was held last night. Present: Messrs. W. Dixon (chair), C. E. Darvill, 0. L. Dymock, T. l\ .Ccrnford, A", tfames, E. Anderson, G. D. Goodrick, A. Crawford, A. P. Fannin, J. G. Oldham, IT. O C'allaghan, A. W. Bick : nell, G. R. Terry, R. O. Field, B. A. Fraser, W. .Shervvin J. H. Gilchrist, D. Addis. Leave of absence was granted 'to Messrs. Davis, Hintz, and Williams. Mr. '-.v. J. Bashfoi'd was elected a member of the Association Finance Committee. The finance committee recommended that the secretary be authorised to make a canvas of the district for new members; and that tenders be called for the printing required.---Adopted. Messrs. D. Addis, G. G. Cornford, W. S. Sherwin, A Spoonor, C. L. Dyniocl;, W. Dixon, IT. O'Callaghan and J. IT. Gilchrist offered their services in the canvas for new members. General. The sub-committee set up to report on the communication from the North Island Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Association recommended that on account of the small increase in the prize money, viz, £1 Is per annum straight out win to £3 3s to be won twice, they do not recommend the doubling of the affiliation fee for next year, but if the poultry association is prepared to increase the price to £4 4s then the matter would be further considered. The recommendation was adopted. Mr. Cornford suggested that in future members be allowed two ladies' passes for the shows. Seconded by Mr. C. .Tames and carried unaimously. The chairman mentioned that several Taihape ladies had suggested that the ladies of the district should run a refreshment booth at the forthcoming show the proceeds to go towards the Belgian Relief Fund, fie thought that the ladies should be encouraged in this matter.—A resolution was passed asking the ladies in question to form a, committee and make formal application to the association, when the proposal would be favourably considered. It was resolved that at the winter shows any person, apart from members, may have the option either to buy a 2s ticket which would enable him to pass in and out as he wished on the day of issue, or paying the usual shilling each time he entered. The secretary reported that donations had been received from Messrs. Ccrnford and Burridge £2/2-, G. C. Revell, £l/1-, E. C. Barnett £2/2-, A. S. Patterson and Co. SI2/2/- Wellington Meat Export Co. £l/1/- Barraud and Abraham .annual recurring subscription) £2/2/-, D. McKay £l/1/-, W Dixon bullock for weight guessing competition, and T. W. Williams a sheep for the came purpose. The meeting closed with a hearty vote of thanks to the chair.
