Germany’s Firm Conviction.
It is her unalterable conviction that German ideas are better than all other ideas because they are German, and she holds it her divine mission to compfd the world to accept their dominance under German government. To achieve her ambition it is necessary to conquer and impoverish Europe—to make Europe yield its wealth and will to Germany. Old-fashioned moralities stood most-embarrassingly in the way of her design, so Germany tranquilly and with perfect logic persuaded herself to rc- | gard all such moralities with contempt.—Age.
