ECHO OF BOMB-THROWING AT CALCUTTA EXAMPLE OF BENGALI DELHI, Thursday. A young Bengali, Dinesh Chandra Majumdar, was sentenced to transportation lor life by a special tribunal, on a charge of conspiracy to murder Sir Charles Tegart, the Commissioner of Police, at Calcutta, on August 25, when bombs were thrown at his car. FIGHTS AT THE POLLS VOTERS BATTLE WAY IN DELHI, Friday. Persistent vigorous picketing by women Congress volunteers caused serious disturbances in Bombay yesterday, when there were repeated charges by the police, to enable voters to reach the polling booths. About 250 people were injured and more than 380 women and IS men were arrested. The situation eventually became so serious that one candidate withdrew. The remaining three candidates were returned unopposed and polling was stopped. F"urther charges were, however, necessary to disperse the crowds. Only 1,400 electors voted out of 60,000.
