“SONG 0’ MY HEART” Though the voice of John McCormack. the world’s foremost lyric tenor, has been heard around the world through the medium of concert work, records and radio, few know, or remember, the composers of the songs he sings. In liis_ first screen appearance, in the starring role of the romance with lyrical additions, "Song o’ My Heart.” a Fox Movietone production which is now at the St. James Theatre, the great tenor sings 11 songs. They include “A Fairy Storv By the Fire,” sung to a group of children on the grounds of his own estate at Monasterevan in Ireland. Angela Campbell Mclnness wrote the music and Oscar Meirkanto wrote the words. “A Pair of Blue Eyes” was written especially for the picture by William Eernell. An exceptionally fine programme of shorter talkie items adds to the enjoyment of the evening.
