An English publisher maintains a music lending library, consisting of all kinds of scores. Subscription costs about £2 a year, and a dozen to twenty pieces of music may be borrowed annually by any member. Christchurch Composition Mr. R. A. Horne, the well-known Christchurch composer, several years ago composed an “Ave Maria.” Recently it has been accepted by an English publishing house and a recording of it has also been made for Columbia by Mr.' Percy S. Nicholls with violin obbligato.
