AIRPORT SCHEME FAVOURED
MANUKAU COUNCIL VIEW A resolution In favour of the proposal to purchase a site for a commercial airport was passed at the meeting of the Manukau County Council yesterday. As an amendment to a motion by Mr. J. S. Dickson that the council take no action. Mi-. S. Rickards moved that the council express itself in favour of the establishment of a commercial airport for Auckland. “It should be under the control of a body like the Harbour Board or the Electric-Power Board, representing all interested parties,” he said. Mr. Rickards’s motion was carried.
