BRUSSELS NET VEIL IS WORN OVER PEARL-EMBROIFV ERED WEDDING GOWN McGEEHAN —DRYLAND Xhe marriage of Betty AiVa, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. AV. Dryland. Morningside. and Leonard Thomas, third son of Mrs. and the late jj r . T. McGeehan. of Sandringham, „as celebrated in St. Lube’s Church. Morningside. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore white satin crepe with pearl trimmings and brussels net veil. She carried a bouquet of white cyclamen and sweet pea. The bridesmaid. Mbs Ida Moors wore wild-rose crepe de chine with s ilk lace cape to tone and tulle headdress. Her bouQUiet was of pink cyclamens and virgfcnian sweet pea. 'The little flower girl. Joan McGeehan, niece of the bridegroom. wore wedgwood blue crepe de chine and carried a posy of yellow primroses. The reception was held in the Domain Kiosk, where the bride’s mother. Mrs. Dryland, wearing a cocoabrown georgette frock relieved with beige and beige hat to tone, received the guests. The bridegroom's mother wore navy crepe de chine with fawn trimmings. and navy hat.
BRIDE IN PINK GOWN
RAETIHI WEDDING BURLING— WALLACE On Saturday afternoon at the residence of Mr. E. A. Voelkerling, Orautoha, Raetihi, Edith Bessie, only dauglitor of Mr. and the late Mrs. E. A. allace, was married by special licence to Hector Alfred, only son of Mr. Alfred Burling. Waihaha, Opua, Bay of Islands. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. L. A. Barnes. Given away by her father, the bride wore a frock of blush-pink georgette, with a pink veil arranged on the head with sprays of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of spring flowers. Miss Betty Voelkerling was frocked in pale pink crepe de chine and she carried a bouquet to tone. Mr. Brian Voelkerling attended as best man. The bride travelled in a frock of blue repp under a brown fur-trimmed coat. <md a hat to match. A slight film of sweet oil, applied after a. copper geyser has been thoroughly cleaned and polished, will keep it looking nice for a very long time.
BOUQUET OF ROSES AND SWEET-SCENTED FREESIAS
ATTENDANT MAID IN BLUE WILSON—MARTIN The marriage was celebrated on Saturday evening of Vera, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Martin, of Mount Eden, and Isaac McKini, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Wilson, Coatbridge, Scotland, at St. James’s Church, Auckland. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Evan Harries. Given away by her father, the bride wore a sown of ivory satin beaute. fashioned with a close-fitting bodice and a full flared skirt which dipped to the ankles at the back. Her veil of embroidered tulle, which formed a graceful train, was arranged on the head with a coonet of orange blossoms and she carried a shower oouquet of whit© roses and freesias. Miss Eileen West, niece of .the bride, was bridesmaid, wearing a frock of pale blue silk de chine with a long full skirt falling from a slim-fitting bodice. She wore a head-dress of blue tulle and carried a bouquet of palo pink roses and freesias. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. J. Martin. After the ceremony a reception was held at Nairn’s tearooms, where Mrs. Martin received the guests wearing a frock of black brocaded silk under a black fur coat and a hat to tone.
GIRLS’ FRIENDLY SOCIETY AT NORTHCOTE
SUCCESSFUL DANCE A -\;ery pleasant evening: was spent in the parish hall, Northcote, last evening - , when the Northcote branch of the Girls’ Friendly Society held a dance in aid of funds for the stall at the forthcoming bazaar for the St. John’s Anglican Church funds. There was a large attendance and excellent music was provided by Air. AV. May all. Among those present were: Mrs. F. W. Wilkes, who wore black trimmed with net; Mrs. F. 11.
