ATTEMPTED THEFT?
JEMMY MARKS ON DOOR OF CURING-SHED Marks, made by a jemmy or some similar instrument, were found on the door of the fish-curing shed by employees of Benson and Company, fish merchants, when they arrived at work this morning. The attempt to break into the shed was unsuccessful. as the double i doors were secured by a heavy chain. It was a daring escapade, as a large floodlight is immediately outside the shed and the locality is very brightly Lit. On the opposite side of the road there is a night watchman employed by the Parker-Lamb Timber Company. The shed is situated on the corner of Fanshawe Street and Halj sey Street.
