The Minister of Education lias been invited to attend a meeting, to be convened by the Waikato Primary Schools’ Committees’ Association, to discuss the Recess Committee’s report.
Congratulations to the staff and pupils of the Hamilton Technical School for the excellent performance of the opera. “Alaritana.” given recently, were extended by the Board of Managers at a meeting this week.
Field-Major and Armstrong, of the local Salvation Army, will retire today after 39 years’ faithful and efficient service in the social and missionary fields. Several leading officials in the Army will attend a farewell to be given to the couple.
. extraordinary incident occurred in \ ictoria Street yesterday afternoon, when a pedestrian reclining on the running-board of a service car was saved from being dragged down and run over by the timely action of a passer-by, who warned the driver just as he had commenced moving.
