RUN OVER BY TRUCK

MAN’S LEFT ARM AMPUTATED Through being run over by a moving truck from which he had fallen during shunting operations at the Mercer railway yards yesterday afternoon, Mr. Henry Hastings received injuries which necessitated the amputation of , his left arm. Mr. Blastings, who is a single man, aged 31, lives in South Glen Road, Lynn, although he is employed at Mercer. The Auckland Hospital Ambulance left Auckland at 6.15 p.m. for AFercer, and arrived back at the hospital at nine o’clock, thus covering a distance of 80 miles in 2% hours.
