DAME CHRISTINA MASSEY WILL NOT ATTEND FAMILY WILL BE PRESENT The state of health of Dame Christina Massey will prevent her making the trip to Wellington with her family to attend the ceremony of unveiling the memorial to her late husband, the Rt. Hon. \Y. F. Massey. It is stated that although Dame Christina is now better than for some years past, she is unable to stand the strain of the long Journey.. All members of the family now in New Zealand will bo present at the function at Point Halsweli on Friday. They are Mr. W. W. Massey, of Mangere, Mr. J. N. Massey, M.P., of Pukekohe, Mr. F. G. Massey, of Auckland, and Mrs. G. Lawrence Taylor, of Auckland. The youngest daughter, Mrs. Salmon, is at present in England. The party will leave for Wellington on Thursday evening. The unveiling of the memorial to the former Prime Minister will be performed by the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, and during the service addresses will be delivered by bis Excellency, the acting-Prime Minister, the Hon. E. A. Ransom, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, Leader of the Reform Party, and Mr. H. E. Holland, Leader of the Labour Party. The dedication

will be performed by the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, the Rev. George Budd, while the Bishop of Wellington, Dr. T. H. Sprott, will offer up a prayer and pronounce the Benediction. During the ceremony, the assemblage will sing Mr. Massey’s favourite hymn, “Abide With Me,” and at the conclusion, their Excellencies, accompanied by members of the official party, will enter the vault and pay their respects to the dead by walking round the casket.
