BAPTIST ANNIVERSARY

TABERNACLE CELEBRATIONS An old folks’ day on Saturday and special services yesterday were part of the 75th anniversary celebrations of the Baptist Tabernacle, which have been held all last week. Several hundred old people, were taken from their homes to the Tabernacle on Saturday afternoon by motorcars. Musical items were given by the choir, and the old people were entertained at afternoon tea. Bouquets were presented to some of the oldest of the visitors, and a large birthday cake was cut by Mrs. Dewar, who is aged 9t>. During the afternoon a bright address was given by the veteran preacher, the Rev. C. Dallaston. The services yesterday also attracted large congregations. The Rev. J. W. Kemp preached in the morning and in the evening Mr. Dallaston spoke on •'The First Century’s Message to the Twentieth”. The choir sang special music. Tho celebrations will conclude this evening, when baptismal services will bo held and Holy Communion celebrated. The speakers will be Mr. Dallaston and the liev. H. Knowles Kempton.
