AUCKLAND’S NEW STATION READY ON NOV. 14 MINISTER’S VISIT Auckland’s new railway station will be officially opened on November 12. The actual train-running time-table 1 come into operation until two days later as it would be impossible | to hold the opening ceremony with i trains arriving at and departing from , the terminus. It is expeced that the Minister of Railways, the Hon. W. A. Veitch. will perform the opening ceremony, which j is expected to be a very big and important function. During the week-end the Minister made a tour of the new station ami expressed the greatest admiration for the beauty of the work and the appointments of the whole building. It j was an undertaking, he said, of which everyone concerned might well be tproud. The contractors, Messrs. T. Julian and Son. will have finished the building by the end of October. By that time a start will have been made by the officers of the Railway Department to move into their new offices, which will be on the first floor of the station. Practically only the finishing work remains to be done at present. Some small details outside the building are being finished at present.
