TEARS HOLE IN SIDE OF CARRIAGE CRASH IN HEAVY RAIN Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Today. Crashing into the side of the Ashburton train as it passed over Church Road at Templeton this morning, a motor-lorrv tore a gaping, jagged hole in one side of the leading carriage. There were no passengers in that portion of the train. The driver of the lorry, Lester Nankivell, who lives at Waikuku, was admitted to hospital suffering from injuries to his head and legs. He was thrown out of the cab of the lorry. Heavy rain was falling at the time.
