TABLE TENNIS TOURNFY
AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS The Auckland table tennis championships were decided at the Y.M.C.A. last evening. A particularly high standard of play was witnessed. F. Paton was the winner of the A grade championship and Duanne was successful in the B division. Miss Taylor won the women’s title for the third year in succession. Fallowing .were the results:— A Grade.—First round: Paton beat Herbert. 21—12, 21—13; Cheal beat Woods, 21r—15, 23—21; Miller beat Marshall, 22 20, 21—17: Withers beat Robins, 21—14, 21—3 2: McArieny beat Tyne, 21—14, 21— 10; Wilson beat Bennette, 21—10, 23—17. Second round: Paton beat Cheal, 21—14, 21—13; Miller beat Withers. 21—17, 14— 21, 21—17; McAnepy beat Wilson, 22—20, 14 —21, 21—11. Semi-final: Miller beat McAneny, 21-r-17, 21—14. Paton a bye. Final: Paton • beat Miller, 20—22, 21—0, 21—14. B Grade.—Duanne beat Seabrook, 21— 14, 21—15. Women’s Championship.—First round: Miss Sanders beat Miss B. Griffiths, Miss Taylor beat Miss G. Griffiths, 21—12, 21— 15. Final: Miss Taylor beat Miss C. Sanders, 21—7, 21—13.
