LONDON

“CHARMING SINNERS” “Charming Sinners,” the delightful comedy based on the play by Somerset Maughan. famous London playwright, thoroughly entertained the audience at the London Theatre last evening. The story, which abounds in witty dialogue, concerns a London society doctor who is becoming a philanderer much to the concern of his relatives and amusement of his wife. The wife, a role brilliantly played by Ruth Chatterton, decides to teach him a lessor, on the principle that “sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.” The subsequent adventures are most amusing. Clive Brook is excellent as the husband, Claude Allister is the butler, and William Powell “the other man.” Several entertaining talkie featur* ettes are also being shown.
