POWER LINE BURNED
BREAKDOWN AT HANGATIKI From Our Own Correspondent TE KUITI, Thursday. When Maoris in the JJangatiki district were burning gorse on Thursday, the flames reached the power lines supplying the Waitomo Power Board's area, and as a result the wires were burned through. This caused an interruption in the electric power at Te Kuiti. Fortunately engineers were working not far from the scene of the fire, and speedy repairs were executed, and the current restored in about an hour.
