COAL CARBONISATION
WAIKATO INDUSTRY PLANT UNDER WAY Reporting to the shareholders laat evening that the company had taken up and paid for 150,000 £1 *D*res in Waikato Carbcurisation, Ltd., Mr. H. R. Mackenzie, chairman of directors of Renown Co!Ltd., stated that the plant was well under way, and that it was anticipated that it would be »n working order not later than ntxt February. All slack in addition to that required for our regular customers will b; manufactured into briquettes, which win be equal to, or of a higher calorific jalue than Newcastle coal.” Mr. Mackenzie said. "It is anticipated that we Jill have a ready sale for the product. Jjotri to the public and to the railways. The railways are at present experimenting with a new furnace for the owning of Waikato coal, and it has, I near, proved a success. If adopted this mean the greater use of Waikato coal by the railways.’*
