JUNIOR GRAND PRIX
MOTOR-CYCLE RACES HELD ON ISLE OF MAN HAMPERED BY MIST British Official Wireless RUGBY, Tuesday. The Manx Junior Grand Prix motorcycle race took place today on the Isle of Man in extremely bad weather conditions over a course of 226 miles, which is difficult at ail times. There was heavy rain in the valleys and a thick mist which gave only a few yards of visibility in the mountains. Of the 44 competitors who roae with great dash and courage many had minor accidents, but only one broke a limb. A young London cyclist, named Pirrie. won on an English Veloeette machine, overhauling the second man, Harding, also on a Veloeette, in the last lap. The winner’s speed was 61.63 miles an hour, which, owing to the state of the weather, was the lowest winning speed for several years.
