FUN FROM LIMERICKS The reading of a number of limericks i handed in by members of the assembly provided amusement at the community I sing in the Town Hall today. | The return of the children to school had little effect on the attendance, the hall being nearly filled with more than I 2,000 people. Mr. Vernon Drew was j .song-leader, Mr. Grey Campbell was , in the chair and Mrs. Barrington Snow ; played the piano. Following are some of the songs | given:—“Cheer Germ,” “John Brown’s i Body,” “Moonlight an.l Roses,” “Sweet Marie,” “Good Old Summertime,’ “Golden Slippers.” “All Through th« j Night,” “Misery Farm,” “Anni< Laurie,” “Coming Thro vke Rye,’ ! “Carry Me Back.”
