THE AMT I OPE.—According to advice received, the tramp steamer Amtiope, en route from Casablanca for Auckland, cleared Balboa on Friday, September 5, and is due here October 1. Her local agent Is Henderson and Macfarlane.
THE ZEAL AN DIC.—Now at Queen’s Wharf discharging general merchandise from Liverpool, the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s motorvessel . Zealandic is expected to sail for Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin at 4 o’clock tomorrow afternoon to complete discharge. Her local agent is L. D. Nathan, Ltd.
PARRAKOOLA REPORTS.—A wireless message from the Swedish motor-vessel Parrakoola states that she cleared Niue Island Friday last and is expected to arrive here on Wednesday evening with general cargo from Los Angeles. After discharging her local consignment she will proceed to Wellington, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Her local agent is Spedding, Ltd.
WAI PA H I DELAYED.—According to the latest radio .advice received from the Union Company's Island fruit steamer Walpahi, she is being delayed by rough weather and expects to arrive from Cook Islands on Wednesday morning. She is expected to leave here on Wednesday afternoon for Wellington. The vessel will later return to Auckland and sail finally on September 18 for Rarotonga, Altutaki, Atiu and Mauke.
AWAHOU RETURNED FOR FUEL. — The Richardson Company’s motor-ship Awahou returned to Auckland yesterday morning to replenish her oil fuel tanks. The vessel left Whangarei for Sydney on August 30, and was delayed in the Tasman Sea by stormy weather. The delay caused the fuel supply to run short, and necessitated her return to port for more fuel. She is to sail for Sydney this evening.
FERN DALE AT GENOA.—Cabled news has been received by the Shaw, Savill Company that the Ferndale arrived at Genoa on Wednesday morning. She left Auckland on July 29 for Genoa and London, via the Panama Canal. SOLOY SAILS 4 P.M.—At present at King’s Wharf discharging the local portion of her cargo of sulphur from Galveston (Texas), the Norwegian motor-ship Soloy is to be dispatched at 4 o'clock this afternoon for New Plymouth, Newcastle and Fremantle to unload the remainder. Her local agent is A. G. Frankham, Limited. FERN WOOD REPORTS A radio message received from the Norwegian motor-ship Fernwood states that/she is expected to reach Auckland was asphalt from Tampico and general merchandise from other Gulf of Mexico ports, on Friday. From Auckland she will proceed to Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Wanganui, Sydney and Melbourne to complete discharging. Her local agent is Henderson and Macfarlane. NIAGARA DUE 6.30 P.M. TODAY. — The Union Company's Royal Mail liner Niagara, en route from Vancouver. via way ports, is encountering bad weather and now expects to arrive at Auckland at 6.30 o’clock this evening. She is carrying passengers, mail and cargo and will berth at Prince’s Wharf. She is announced to leave here at 10 o’clock tomorrow night for Sydney.
MAUNGANUI 7 A.M. TOMORROW. — The intercolonial steamer Maunganui, owned by the Union Steam Ship Company, is due to arrive at 7 a.m. tomorrow from Sydney with passengers, mail and cargo, and will berth at Central Wharf. After disembarking her local passengers and discharging mail and cargo she will proceed to Wellington on Wednesday afternoon. She is scheduled to sail from Wellington for Sydney at 3 o’clock next Friday afternoon. HIKURANGI FROM NORFOLK.—The small steamer Hikurangi arrived this morning from Norfolk Island, returning from her second trip there in a new service. The vessel left Auckland on Fridav, August 29, and experienced fair to moderate weather till the following Sundav, when she ran into a heavy nor’-west gale accompanied by heavy rain. These conditions lasted the whole dav, clearing again at uight, and the Hikurangi arrived at Norfolk Island the next day. She was delayed there for a day owing to the Burns, Philp steamer Makambo from Sydney needing all the wharf space. When the Makambo had sailed the Hikurangi discharged her cargo and ajso loaded a cargo of 1,300 cases of oranges, bananas and vegetables for Auckland. She also brought a quantity of fruit pulp. The vessel cleared the island on Thursdav afternoon last, and from the time of leaving was beset by mountainous seas, a strong southerly and very heavy squalls. One sea breaking on board stove in a lifeboat, broke away part of the starboard bulwarks of the bridge, and carried away a fresh-water tank. These conditions held till Saturday night, when they eased off and the ship enjoyed fair to moderate weather in to port. On arrival the Hikurangi berthed at King’s Wharf to discharge her cargo to the agency of Spedding, Limited. The vessel is owned by James Smith and Co.

HOKIANGA is due back from Hokianga tomorrow’ afternoon. She sails on the return trip at 3 p.m. on Thursdav. KAITOA arrives from Nelson on Thursday. She sails at daybreak on Friday for Nelson. RONAKI is to be dispatched for Raglan. Kawhia and Waikato Heads at 3 o’clock this afternoon.
THE SCHOONER HUIA.—The Nobel auxiliary schooner Huia reached Dunedin from Nelson on Friday and was to sail for Melbourne on Saturday evening. At Melbourne the vessel will load explosives for Greyraouth, Westport and Auckland. WAIRUNA ENCOUNTERS ROUGH WEATHER.—Rough weather is being encountered by the Union Steam Ship Company’s steamer Wairuna, which is bound for Auckland with general merchandise from Pacific Coast ports, and she does not expect to arrive here until Thursday mcfhning. After discharging the local portion of her cargo she will proceed to Wellington, Melbourne, Sydney and Newcastle to complete discharge.
